Playground Duty and Safety

Our belief

The emotional, social and physical safety of our students in the playgound is paramount.

Actions

1. All teachers are rostered to do duty each week in a designated area. It is important to constantly move around your designated area so students can see you, as this is a deterrent to inappropriate behaviour.
    

2. Students who cause trouble can be sent to sit outside the staffroom during play times.
    

3. If an accident occurs during your duty, please follow the procedures for accidents in this database.
    

4. The following guidelines may helpful.
   a. Students are to walk around the building.
   b. Students are allowed in classrooms only if supervised by a teacher.
   c. Rough and dangerous play including tackling games are not permitted.
   d. Students are to remain within designated areas.
   e. The Hall is used for handball and other passive games (not rugby!)
   f. Out of bounds area include;
   - parking area and main access road
   - under the low buildings and Library
   - on the housing compound
   - behind the pool
   - behind the middle school building
