Behaviour Management
Our belief
All individuals and
groups working on the school site should be encouraged to
take greater responsibility for behaviour which adds to the
effectiveness of the learning community Korobosea
International School. The following principles apply on our
school site:
-
All behaviour is a response to the environment or a
situation.
-
Behaviour should be managed by values and problem
solving rather than rules and control.
-
Bullying and violence is often initiated by the words
people use.
-
The learning community Koroboro will be one of
peacefulness, problem solving, acceptance of diversity
and commitment to the goals of the school.
-
Clear processes will be in place to support students,
staff and parents who can not yet contribute to our
learning community in a disciplined and constructive
manner.
-
School rules will arise from collaborative discussion of
rights and responsibilities.
Actions
-
All members of the school community will be aware of and
encouraged to use the KoroBoro 'High Five' approach.
-
A
system of 'Peer Support' will operate across the site.
-
Classroom rules developed collaboratively with the
teacher and students will be visible in every classroom.
These rules will have been developed after examining the
rights and responsibilities of the teacher and the
students.
-
A
set of school rules will be developed in 2005.
-
Over 2005 CANTER will be phased out and replaced with a
system which encourages students to take greater
responsibility for personal behaviour.
-
Regular surveys of bullying and behaviour will be
conducted by senior management.
