Assemblies

Our belief

Assemblies are an important part of the celebration of the school. The focus should always be celebration. Where classes and clusters are invited to lead assembly careful though should be given to the nature of the content and the quality of any performance.

Actions

  1. Most Fridays there will be a whole school assembly at 8.50am.

  2. An Assembly Schedule is published at the start of each term.

  3. Parents and public are invited to the assembly. This means that standards of presentation must be high and the whole presentation should promote the school in a positive manner.

  4. Assembly items should be practiced and shown to one of the Senior Staff at least one whole day before the assembly.

  5. The following criteria will be used to judge assemblies:
    a. The items and presentations were appropriate for the audience.
    b. The content engaged the audience.
    c. Those presenting items demonstrated new learning.
    d. Any oral and written language was of a high quality.
    e. The children had a significant role in the planning and presentation of the items.
    f. There was a feeling of celebration in the hall.
