Behaviour Management At Korobosea all students are expected to take responsibility for their behaviour. Through a variety of programs we provide students with training and a framework that develops good decision making. All classrooms teachers provide positive behaviour recognition systems. We also have implemented whole school programs to recognise student achievement. A layered format is used to assist students who are experiencing difficulties with behaviour. Parents are expected to work with the school to address these concerns. At Boroko East International school we encourage students to take responsibility for their behaviour and we use a variety of strategies to manage behaviour. High Five The High Five is one of the strategies used to support behaviour. The High Five hand is designed to give children a visual and physical prompt to remember strategies to deal with bullying or harassment in the playground. Each strategy is taught individually and students learn to use each skill in conjunction with the others to deal with their problems in a constructive problem solving way. Positive Reinforcement Positive reinforcement is another strategy used to support behavior. Classroom teachers have their own methods of recognizing positive behavior. We have also implemented whole school programs to recognize student achievement. Classroom & School Rules School and classroom rules are based on basic rights and responsibilities of individuals – the right to be fair, be kind, be safe and be respectful. Classroom rules and consequences are developed collaboratively with the teacher and students and are visible in every classroom. A school-wide leveled system of consequences also operates to assist students who are experiencing difficulty with behaviour.
